Edinburgh Airport Second Application 2026
Following the refusal of the CAA to approve the first application, Edinburgh Airport has embarked on the process necessary to submit a second application for an Airspace Change proposal. Unlike the consultation prior to the first application there is to be no trial of the airspace change. The previous application trial was cut short owing to an unprecedented public outcry following the significant aircraft noise from planes on the new TUTUR flightpath over, amongst other places, Linlithgow. Airspace change - Edinburgh Airport
The primary concern is the proposed new flightpath named GULLY/BERRY/STOPP, on which planes will overfly the eastern part of Linlithgow, appears identical to the previously rejected TUTUR. Also overflown will be the area highlighted in the Linlithgow Local Place Plan as the preferred area for new housing development. This flightpath can be seen by clicking on the link below.

As at 20th July 2026 the Community Council has received no response from Edinburgh Airport.
