The Community Council has influence with public and private sector organisations, for example, the Community Council is a statutory consultee and must by law be consulted on planning matters. The Community Council’s primary purpose is to co-ordinate and express to public authorities, the views of the community in relation to matters for which those authorities are responsible. The Community Council is empowered to take such action as is expedient and practicable.
Members of the Community Council are elected for a four year term. A new four year term began on 14th October 2025. The Community Council can co-opt members who are willing to participate in its work. If you are interested in joining the Community Council please get in touch and someone will get back to you.
